As a result of this, the bones become weak, they may easily break due to a fall or due to any possible injuries that one might face. The bones that are osteoporotic are the ones that have lost their density or mass and these contain an abnormal tissue structure. If one has bones that have lost their density, they are likely to weaken and break easily.

Risks of osteoporosis

For people having a low bone density, they are at a higher risk of osteoporosis. Women are more susceptible to the condition than men. Breaking a bone in patients suffering from osteoporosis is a serious complication. The bones that are most prone to breaking include the bones of the hip, spine or the waist.
